Jamaica is an island country situated in the Caribbean Sea, comprising the third-largest island of the Greater Antilles. The island is 10,990 square kilometres in area, lies about 145 kilometres (90 mi) south of Cuba, Jamaica is the fifth-largest island country in the Caribbean.


Once a Spanish possession known as Santiago, in 1655 it came under the rule of England, and was called Jamaica. It achieved full independence from the United Kingdom on 6 August 1962. Kingston is the country's largest city and its capital, with a population of 937,700.

This stunning Island has much to offer and getting back to nature is just one of them. The magic of the rainforests, which seems to be as alive as any of the tropical animals that live there. Take a hike to the peak of the Blue Mountains and marvel at the view. Meet with the friendly locals people, be prepared to haggle it’s a local custom. Try some of the local restaurants, and watch the sunset over the Caribbean Sea to the sound of slow reggae rhythms.
